Welcome to Loving Guidance.  A Small Business built on the belief that you can train any dog as long as you are able to show them the respect they deserve.  This approach has helped many dogs, whether it be dogs that needed behavior modification or to learn the basics.  The name chosen for this company demonstrates exactly how the dogs are taught.  They are taught through our love and they are taught with us guiding them, not forcing them.

If you have a new puppy to teach, an adult dog that needs a little refresher course or a dog with behavior issues, Loving Guidance is here for you.

I offer the following services:
Consultations are FREE in which I meet with you and your dog(s) to determine the training plan that works best for you.

Private Lessons can be held in the convenience of your home or a facility.  Holding lessons in your home is best suited for dogs that are shy or a little nervous of the outside world as well as any dog-aggressive issues.  Once we are able to build their confidence at home, we can use it in the big wide world.  Private lessons are also great for specific behaviors that need to be addressed in the home environment, such as barking, counter surfing and jumping on the furniture.  Private Lessons can be for dogs of any age.  I am also offering a Walk & Train where I work with your dog personally for 40 minutes then go over everything for the remaining 20 minutes.  This is very convenient for a lot of owners.

Group Classes are held at Brengle Terrace Park in Vista.  This is most ideal for puppies and young dogs so they can learn the training desired in an environment full of stimulation.  As well as the wonderful training they will receive, they will have a perfect opportunity to play and socialize with other dogs and people.  There isn't anything more important than a dog that knows how to socialize and play properly with others.  My classes are small, with no more than 7 dogs in each class, so that every owner and dog team can receive the attention they deserve.  Starting on 11/1/11, I am requiring a $25 non-refundable deposit when enrolling in a Puppy, Basic, Advanced or CGC Class.

Canine Good Citizen and S.T.A.R. evaluations are available with Rochelle.  I have been a certified evaluator by the American Kennel Club for many years.  To find out more information about this wonderful program please visit www.akc.org/events/cgc/index.cfm

Assistance Training designed for each team individually.  If you have medical limitations, physical and/or emotional, and your doctor feels you would benefit from an Assistance dog, I can help you train your OWN dog.  After an evaluation of what your personal needs are and what your dog is already capable of, we can train your best friend to help you and have them registered with the county.

Behavior Modification is probably the most desired service.  If your dog likes to clean the counters for you, or feels he should help you empty the trash, we can help.  We can work with all dogs, no matter their problem.  They may be nervous, anxious, aggressive or just have bad habits, either way, Loving Guidance can help you.

Remote Collar Training is offered to those owners who would like to enjoy their dogs off-leash, whether it be at the beach, on a hike or in a huge back yard.  I will teach you how to effectively train your dog using the remote collar in the setting that is desired.

Workshops on topics including "Meet-N-Greet", "Recalls", "Heeling" and more.  Workshops are open to all past and current clients of Loving Guidance.  They are held at Brengle Terrace Park as well and run for an hour.  Pre-registration is required as space is limited.  If you are interested in attending, please email me at lovingk9guidance@gmail.com.

Aquatic Behavior Modification/Exercise  How many times have you heard how beneficial water aerobics is for our joints? How soothing it is when done correctly? How it helps you recover quicker from surgeries than any other type of physical therapy? The same goes for our canine companions. Water Therapy has been used by many Registered Veterinary Technicians and Physical Therapists to aid in the healing post surgery, to help fight signs of arthritis and many more disabilities. However, I have found a way for it to help the canine psyche as well. Water Therapy helps dogs who are aggressive; learn to look to the person, whether it is the owner or myself, in the pool for leadership because they are on new grounds. A lot of dogs can have the muzzles removed when swimming because their minds are diligently working on keeping them swimming, not worrying about biting the closest hand. Dogs that are scared, nervous or shy become self-confident with Water Therapy. They realize they don’t always need Mom or Dad around to protect them. They learn something new that is also a life saving fundamental any dog should know. I have also been using Water Therapy for individuals who are handicapped and cannot supply the right source of outlet for their service dogs. A lot of the dogs have pent up energy because they are working all the time. And a large population is overweight because they don’t do much physical activity. With Water Therapy, the owner can be involved by throwing tennis balls, toys and treats into the pool for the dogs to retrieve. They can coach them along from the sidelines leaving them very much involved in their dog’s activities.
The 86 degree water in the Water Therapy pool helps keep joints moving, helps build muscles and is very low impact on their joints. The warm water keeps their muscles from tightening up and keeps their movement fluid.
We are lucky to have The Total Dog allow us to use their facility on a weekly basis.  To learn more about their facility, visit them at www.thetotaldogwellness.com.
